Life is about the connections we make. We learn about ourselves through our relationships with others. When relationships are not going well, it hurts. Sometimes it is really hard to see what is getting between us and our partners. Sometimes it is necessary to slow down and figure out what is lying beneath our interactions. This is where couples counselling can help. Compassionately exploring our thoughts and feelings can help us understand how we affect one another. This can help us understand how our relationships actually work, and with that knowledge, make the adjustments needed.
My approach to couples counselling is holistic and collaborative. It takes two people to build a relationship and it will require two people to make the relationship into what you want. Our work together will consist of both individual, one-on-one sessions, and sessions as a couple. We will work together to gain a better understanding of how your relationship functions, while also learning about how each of you work as individuals.
